[Weekly Chart] 3rd Week of October 2019

Welcome to the Weekly Charts for the third week of October 2019. A fair amount of comebacks occurred this week despite the sad news from the start of the week (you can see this in the previous Weekly Chart post which I published mid-week). I will get around to posting a few extra reviews tonight, while I am hoping to get the album reviews going again by the end of the week. I will also try to get that special page in which I list the upcoming reviews out today or tomorrow.

For this week, TWICE rises to the top again with Feel Special. This is the third week in which they have managed to top the charts, which is expected from the digital queens. ONF rises up one position to the second position this week with Why, while Kei’s I Go does the exact same to land in the third position. In the fourth position, it is a new song from the week. That is, Lim Hyunsik’s Dear Love. Last week’s number 1 song, Blind For Love by AB6IX, dropped down to only the fifth position.

[Weekly Chart] 2nd Week of October 2019

Hello everyone. Welcome to another edition of the Weekly Chart. I was originally going to post this on Monday night. But I think the majority of us have heard about the tragic news regarding Sulli. So I thought it would be best to hold onto this post for a day or two. I just wanted to start to express my condolences to Sulli’s family, friends, former group members and fans. I was very shocked to read the news as on Monday. And over the last day, I have also been listening to a lot of older F(x) music, along with Goblin, as a mini-tribute to Sulli. So a lot of the shock and sadness is still in my system. But no matter what happens, Sulli will forever be apart for the KPOP industry and will be deeply missed by all. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to fans and the industry over the last 10 years.  I hope that wherever you are now, you will be resting happily in a better place.

For those who feel sad, lonely and like they just don’t have someone to talk to, please don’t feel that way. I know that is a hard thing to say. But I am always certain that there is someone close by that is always happy to lend an ear and listen to your worries and thoughts. But if you are uncomfortable talking to someone you know, there are numbers that you can call to talk to someone who you don’t know. It always helps to talk to someone, whoever they may be, so keep that in mind. And if you have a friend or family member who looks like they need someone to talk to, do not hesitate to chat with them. A simple “Are you okay?” can go a long way.

So, for this week, I wish to gloss over the charts given the circumstances. I hope you understand why. AB6IX tops the charts this week with Blind In Love. Super Junior’s pre-release single, I Think I rose to the second position and is followed by ONF’s Why. The rest of the top 5 is made up of Kei’s I Go and Stray Kids Double Knot, respectively. [Weekly Chart] 1st Week of October 2019

It is a late post for this week’s Weekly Chart post. Usually, I post the charts early in the afternoon. But in addition to daylight savings (which has thrown my internal clock off balance) and the continuous pileup of work, I have been very busy. This week I celebrated my 8th year posting and expressed my gratitude for the past 8 years. On top of that, I announced that the next few weeks will be very erratic in terms of the posting schedule. I have put album reviews on hold and I will be making a list of songs that I will slowly review once I am freed from the confines of studies. And I will get that list up in the next few days and slowly add to it as the next few weeks go by. In the meantime, let’s look at where your favourites rank this week.

Topping the charts for the second week in a row is TWICE’s Feel Special. It has definitely become one of my favourite title tracks to date from TWICE. Lit by ONEUS comes in second this week, followed by LABOUM’s Firework, which rose one position this week from last week’s fourth place. When It Rains makes its debut this week and Jeong Sewoon places fourth this week. And finally, the Korean version of the Avenger’s, SuperM, who made their debut with Jopping on Friday and just performed for the first time today, places in the fifth position. For more of the charts (i.e. 6th to 30th position), scroll down below.

[Weekly Chart] 4th Week of September 2019

Welcome to the 4th Week of September 2019. I am a little busy today, so it will be a quick introduction. I have cancelled today’s and Tuesday’s album review due to the same reason. I will be back with song reviews tomorrow and the next album review will be posted on Friday. Now, the introduction is over and we move onto the chart recap!

Topping the charts today is TWICE’s Feel Special. The song has grown exponentially on me, so expect to see it on the top end of the charts in the next few weeks. Devil by CLC takes out the second position this week, while KARD’s latest single, Dumb Litty earns themselves a 3rd place debut. Laboum remains in the Top 5 this week with their Firework comeback, while EVERGLOW (with Adios) rises back into the Top 5 by completing the Top 5 this week. [Weekly Chart] 3rd Week of September 2019

This time around, I am not a few days late. For those who missed my mistake, I didn’t hit the publish button last Sunday. And I didn’t realize until Thursday. So the chart post ended up being 4 days late. Whoops. But today, I am making sure I press the button as soon as I am done. Welcome to the charts for the 3rd week of September 2019.

Topping the charts this week is SEVENTEEN’s latest comeback track, Fear. I guess other songs would need to fear this comeback as SEVENTEEN’s return has further extended their influence on the industry. Following them is LABOUM’s Firework, which I think might be sticking to the top end of the chart for the next few weeks. Sunmi’s track (LALALAY) topped the charts the previous week and this week she finds herself in the third position, while last week’s number one song, Devil by CLC, finds itself in the fourth position. And SEVENTEEN’s HIT, which has topped charts twice already, completes this week’s top 5.

[Weekly Chart] 2nd Week of September 2019

So I just found this in my draft folder. I thought I had posted it already but it turns out that was just my imagination and deprived mind. Apologies, but here it is now.

Hello everyone! It has been another busy week for me (which explains my lack of reviews). But there wasn’t much to cover this week due to the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, which effects some Asian countries, such as South Korea. Though I suspect next week will be busy as there are already several confirmed to return, so prepare for those reviews (and I will try to get them done as soon as possible). In the meantime, let’s have a look back on the charts for the past week.

Landing on the top of the charts this week is CLC’s Devil. And then we see the recurring Top 5 song’s for the last 9 weeks, Pentagon’s Humph! and DAY6’s Time Of Our Life (taking out the second and third positions respectively). Last week’s number 1 song (LALALAY by Sunmi) finds itself in the fourth position, while SEVENTEEN’s HIT completes this week’s Top 5. For more of the charts, scroll down below.

[Weekly Chart] 1st Week of September 2019

I am a little late today with the Weekly Chart post. Usually, I don’t post this late into the evening, as my album review will be published around now or a little later. That is still coming. Hopefully, I will have it up before midnight or a little after midnight. In the meantime, let’s look at the charts for the 1st Week of September. Yep, the end of the year is around the corner.

We seem to have some new contenders at the top of the charts, while some just won’t want to bridge from the Top 5. Sunmi’s LALALAY has risen to the top of the charts, ending both the SEVENTEEN and DAY6 reigns for the past month. Weki Meki’s Tiki Taka is this week’s second-place song. Pentagon’s comeback is one of the two songs that have been in the Top 5 for the past few weeks and Humph! comes in third. X1’s Flash is this week’s fourth-place song, while DAY6’s Time Of Our Life (yes, them again) rounds out our Top 5. For more of the charts, scroll down below.

[Weekly Chart] 4th Week of August 2019

Can you believe that August is already up and we are literally in September? How fast is the year going?! It is a little crazy. But as we move into a new month, another has wrapped up as well. And it is time to look back on the week through the Weekly Chart Segment. Currently on my week off, so I expect I will be drafting a lot of posts in preparation for the remainder of my final semester as I will be quite busy with projects and tying up the loose ends from my studies. NCT Dream’s Boom rises back into the Top 5 and sits in the third position. D.D.D by The Boyz debuts in the fourth position, while CIX’s sleek Movie Star completes this week’s Top 5.

[Weekly Chart] 2nd Week of August 2019

How quickly do some of these weeks go? I remember we were experiencing last Sunday just yesterday. Somehow the week became a blur and we find ourselves on another Sunday. This also means it is time to look back on the blur of the week and inspect where the songs on the charts rank through the Weekly KPOP Chart segment!

Managing to reach the top of the charts this week is SEVENTEEN’s HIT. A song like this is bound to get anyone excited for whatever the group will releasing next, which I believe will be coming out on the 16th of September. In the second position, it is The Rose’s newest single, RED. ITZY’s ICY rises back to the Top 5 and sits in the third position. Jinu’s solo debut song, Call Anytime, which features Mino debuts in the 4th position, while DAY6’s Time Of Our Life finishes up in the fifth position.

We have just wrapped up another busy week and it is time to have a look back by visiting the Weekly Chart segment! Note that there are a few more reviews as well (in conjunction to last week’s releases) that I still want to review. They should come out this week if all goes to plan. The third to fifth position songs are new releases from this week and they are Seventeen’s HIT, TRCNG’s Missing and Oh My Girl’s Bungee, respectively. For more of the charts, scroll down below!

[Weekly Chart] 5th Week of July 2019

It is another Sunday, so it is time to look back at the charts for this past week! Not many releases occurred this week as I thought. But there are a number of additional comebacks and debuts that I will be reviewing in the next few weeks after I get over the first hurdle of my semester. Stay tuned for those! Other than that, let’s start going through the charts!

Making their comeback at the very top of the charts this week is ITZY’s ICY. Very addictive and such a fun song to listen to during the week. While we say hello to one release, we will be saying goodbye to another. Wrapping up their 9 weeks on the charts is WJSN’s Boogie Up. It has gone up an down a fair bit in the last couple of weeks but it is still one of my favourites of 2019. DAY6’s Time Of Our Life dropped down the third position, while NCT Dream’s Boom remains steady in the fourth position.  And rounding out the Top 5 for this week is GWSN’s Red Sun.

In regards to GWSN’s Red Sun, I realized last night that I had mistakenly left them off last week’s Top 30. I have since rectified last week’s chart, with Red Sun (021) placing in the 26th position. For more of the charts (and it is correct this time), scroll down below.

[Weekly Chart] 2nd Week of July 2019

Welcome back to another Weekly Chart Post. I am about to enter my final weeks of holidays (time flies so quickly when you are having fun…), so this will be the final week which I will be pushing any delayed reviews out. Other than that, I have completed my half-year wrap up and will be focusing on a number of special posts that I will schedule throughout my upcoming semester. These include missed music video reviews and a Produce X 101 review, along with a few other ideas which I cannot remember. So, there will be a lot to expect in the coming 12 or so weeks.

For the charts this week, we see the rise of SF9 (once again) with RPM. I have been madly relaying this track this week as I have officially caught on. Such a dynamic track. GFriend, who has been scoring wins this week with their new release Fever has managed to take over the second position. Following behind them is WJSN with Boogie Up. Last week’s number 1 track, Snapping by Chungha, dropped down to the fourth position, while Ha Sung Woon’s Blue debuts in the fifth position.

[Weekly Chart] 1st Week of July 2019

Welcome to the first weekly chart post for the second half of 2019. As I said last week, let’s all hope that the cool releases (and only the cool releases) continue onto the second half of the year. And it seems that will be the case with the return of GFriend and Ailee, along with solo releases from D.O (from EXO) and Sulli, making their debut on the chart this week!

Chungha’s latest solo release, Snapping, has been enjoying a lot of popularity and attention. It has topped charts and won a few weekly music shows form this week. And today, Snapping managed to top this week’s Weekly KPOP Chart.  In the second position was Ong Seong Woo’s first solo single, Heart Sign. As mentioned before, Fever by Gfriend and That’s Okay by D.O (EXO) made their debut in the third and fourth position respectively this week. The final song as part of the Top 5 is Stray Kids’ Side Effects, which was last week’s Number 1 Song.
